At over 1000kgs the NZ series saws are very solid. The frame is 5mm steel plate welded along the full seams, shaped into 'U' sections at the ends and braced by a 200mm diameter steel section. The cast iron table is 900mm deep by 700mm wide with 80mm deep side walls all 10mm thick. It's heavily ribbed with 2 length and 3 cross braces. The top is precision ground with small ridges lengthwise to minimise friction.

The sliding table and sub-table are heavy, multi-chamber extrusions for excellent resistance to twisting. The upper table is guided by 36 extra-large hardened ball bearings, providing a light and accurate sliding action. The bearings run between two sets of four 8mm dimeter hardened steel rails. The sliding table is height and level adjusted at four points. The carriage can be set fractionally above the fixed table, eliminating drag.

Well organised and ergonomically placed controls characterise the strength yet simplicity of Robland's design. All electrics are housed in a dust-protected sealed container.
