T7 Upgrades and new Jig Announced

AWT-250 Advanced Water Trough

The water trough has an integrated magnet, which attracts the steel cut from your tools and keeps your stone cleaner and more free-cutting.  When cleaning the water trough, you’ll find that most of the steel will be located right at the magnet.  It can be wiped off the water trough with a paper towel or rag.

For long tools that drip water over the edge of the lip (like chef’s knives and planer blades) add the water chute. Set the widest edge of the chute onto the tab in the middle of the lip of the trough and the water chute will direct the water back into the trough from even the longest tools.

For jobs where you prefer to use the water chute you can further improve the water management by using the included Tilt shoes. Slip the Tilt Shoes onto the two feet on the honing wheel side of the Tormek.  This puts the frame on a slight angle so that the water that lands on the frame runs into the water trough. When you prefer not using the tilt shoes you can easily store them beside the feet by using the integrated magnets

EZYLOCK system

The new EzyLock system for the grindstone uses a self-tightening stainless steel knob to secure the grindstone.  No tools are required and you don’t need to exert any pressure on the nut to secure the grindstone. This construction also makes it very easy to change grindstones, from the standard aluminum oxide to the new specialty stones.

New ED Coating

The frame of the T-7 is now treated with an Electrodeposition (ED) coating that provides superior corrosion protection and forms the foundation for the tough powder coat paint finish.

Retro-fit!

For those who already own a Tormek T-7 or 2000 the Advanced Water Trough and the EzyLock system are available as upgrades that will fit any 250mm machine sold after 1991.
