Jacks turns 80!
1st May represented 80 years since the establishment of Jacks back in 1946. From small beginnings in Wellington’s Vivian Street, Jacks grew to become a core feature of NZ’s woodworking machinery landscape. Today, Jacks remains the largest supplier across the industry.
“One of the reasons Jacks has remained such a valued supplier to so many Kiwi workshops is our independence,” says CEO Richard Bealing. “Being able to select machinery that suits Kiwi customers has been key to our longevity.”
Still 100% owned by the Jack family, another factor in the company’s success has been a willingness to move with the times – evidenced by the recent move to represent Chinese manufacturing giant KDT in New Zealand. KDT machinery – including an exciting new step forward in automation – will be at the forefront of the JacksTech in-house show to be held later in the year. As well as some appropriate 80th anniversary celebrations of course!
